Language:
The language I used in 'Reckless' was informal and friendly, I believed that this was a positive convention to adapt when creating my magazine as other similar magazines on the market use this approach to connect with their target audience.
Photography:
Front cover: I featured a young female on my front cover and I believe that she appears like the stereotypical, alternative artist. Her heavy eye make up adds to the edgy rock like appearance and as her clothes are casual she portrays a laid back teenager.
Contents page: I incorporated the concert scene in my contents page as it is certain that particular buyers of 'Reckless' will attend gigs themselves. Take 'Kerrang' for example, this particular magazine has the same genre as mine and frequently incorporates gigs in every issue as teenagers who are interested in alternative music are stereotypically known to be found at rock concerts.
Double page spread: The appearance of my model in this photograph greatly contrasts with her pose on the front cover. Rather than having an intense gaze into the camera lens she appears relaxed and friendly and does not portray the incorrect, stereotypical appearance that most rock artists are categorized as.
Gigs featured in 'Kerrang' magazine:
I included gig photographs in my own magazine as my particular social group are known to frequently attend concerts.
Inspiration for front cover:
Taylor Momsen is the perfect example of how singers from an alternative scene are stereotypically seen as being unfriendly and hard to approach. I took inspiration from this certain photograph, which was featured in 'Kerrang', for my front cover. I wanted my model to appear conventional then later contrasted her appearance when featured on the double page spread. She then transformed into appearing relaxed as I altered her pose and it was also apparent how she was friendly from her casual responses during the interview.
