Similar to most double page spreads this has the typical layout of columned text on the right and a dominating image on the left; I will use this type of layout in my own magazine. Despite the colour scheme only being red and black I think it is an effective way to make the magazine appealing yet not over the top, when doing my own double page spread I think that I will only stick to using two colours.
I love the way that the letter 'L' which stands for 'Lady GAGA' is large enough to practically fill the page yet readers can still read the article behind it. It is debatable wether the colour red is used to symbolize that Lady Gaga's music is both dangerous and powerful as her lyrics usually have a deeper meaning.
I think that the photograph of Lady Gaga is in black and white so the attention from her pose isn't drawn away by colour. The image could be viewed as shocking, considering the only form of clothing she has on are chains around her neck, suggesting that she doesn't care about negative opinions.
