contents page analysis

I like the layout of this contents page and will consider taking idea's from it in my own magazine. The images are a good idea because they tell the reader certain bands that are featured in the magazine before buying it;  meaning that if the potential buyers see one of their favourite bands advertised there is a likely chance that they will buy the magazine. The text at the side is neatly organised, all articles categorised so it is easy to spot what page the readers desired article is on. I like how the headers are highlighted yellow and black, I used this idea on my front cover and plan to do the same on my contents page; I think it gives the magazine a more interesting look and makes important information stand out. I'm unsure whether or not to include a editors note on my contents page, yet it does some like a positive idea as it engages the reader with the editor every week.
